ANALYSIS OF THE POST

Amanah Hilang, Tapi Bukan Dalam Teks. Dalam Tindakan

Abdul Hadi Awang, President of PAS, in his Minda Presiden series, delivers a sermon-like essay wrapped in religious narrative — quoting hadith, blaming secularism, pluralism, and LGBT existence for Malaysia’s decline.

But here’s the paradox: He preaches about lost leadership trust (amanah). Yet forgets he is one of the architects of that very decay.

His essay is split into three parts:

  1. Religious Anchoring
He begins with a hadith about a man asking the Prophet SAW when the Day of Judgement will come. The Prophet stays silent, prioritising substance over spectacle.
The irony? Hadi shouts about substance but skips Parliament 90% of the time — the one place a wakil rakyat is supposed to speak with substance.
  1. Blame Game Politics

    • Blames secularism, liberalism, pluralism.

    • Blames LGBT for moral collapse.

    • Blames economic woes on "material politics" and taxes.

  2. No mention of corruption, cronyism, logging cartels, illegal mining in Kelantan, poor public service delivery, or his own party’s silence in the face of injustice.

  3. Call to Change Leaders
He ends by saying we must vote for leaders with true faith, not arrogant ones.

Convenient. Since his own attendance record, anti-women views, and culture-war politics suggest he means: “Vote for leaders who look like me.”

THE COMMENT BY “williamblaun” — A DAMNING TRUTH

“Saya suka baca Minda Presiden PAS… Tapi sayangnya, apa yang ditulis tidak selari dengan tindakan. Hadir Parlimen pun jarang…”

This is the real sermon.

A retired soldier, loyal to nation and law, says what many are too afraid to:

Words are easy. Attendance is hard. Leadership is not a khutbah — it’s a burden.

He ends with:

“Walk the talk.”

But Hadi walks from podium to podium, not from Parliament to policy.

HADI AWANG'S REAL TRACK RECORD — A CRITICAL LOOK

1. Parliament Absenteeism
Multiple records have shown Hadi is consistently one of the worst attending MPs.
He blames health. Travel. Prioritising “da’wah.”
But you don’t get to collect taxpayer salary and skip duty in the name of religion.

This isn’t dakwah. It’s dereliction.

2. Shifting Blame, Avoiding Governance
While in power during the PN era, PAS helmed several ministries.
What reforms did Hadi push?

  • Any anti-corruption frameworks?
  • Improved education for rural students?
  • Infrastructure for flood zones in Kelantan?

None. Just more moral panic. More cultural war. More lectures.

3. Silence on Cronyism & Corruption
When UMNO stole, he condemned them.
Now that PAS aligns with UMNO factions, he preaches patience.
Where was Hadi when:

  • Najib got royal pardon reduction?
  • Kelantan’s illegal logging destroyed orang asli land?
  • Aid distributions were politicised?
Selective outrage is not amanah. It’s complicity.

4. Demonising Minorities
Hadi consistently frames LGBTQ+ people, liberals, and secularists as threats.
Not corrupt officials. Not power-abusing politicians.
His legacy is one of division, not leadership.

REPLY/ADD-ON COMMENT (in Bahasa Malaysia)

Saudara, saya setuju sepenuhnya. Sebagai rakyat biasa, kami letih tengok pemimpin yang hanya pandai menulis panjang tapi hilang masa pengundian parlimen.

Dr Hadi sering berceramah tentang amanah, akhlak, dan musuh negara tapi gagal hadir bila negara perlukan suara beliau.

Kelantan masih kekal negeri paling miskin. Sumber air tercemar. Tanah orang asli dirampas. Tetapi yang disalahkan adalah LGBT dan liberalisme.

Kalau benar mahu selamatkan negara, hadirlah. Laksanakan tugas. Bukan hanya kutbah.

Islam ajar untuk laksanakan amanah, bukan hanya bercakap pasal amanah.

Walk the talk, YB.
Bukan walk away — from duty.

FINAL BLOW

This isn’t leadership. This is theatre.
A stage built on religious guilt, cultural division, and selective outrage. Hadi Awang did not lose the amanah.
He surrendered it.

In words, he quotes the Prophet.
In deeds, he betrays him.

They wrote the sermon.
We’ll write the reckoning.
